BEST SONG FEATURING NICKI MINAJ – READERS POLL

by: Cristin Maher

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has no problem standing on her own two feet as a performer, but she is also one heck of a featured artist. Ever since she broke onto the music scene, Minaj has had no qualms about lending her signature vocals to a number of songs by other artists. From harder rap tracks to bubblegum pop tunes, the Young Money rapper is constantly sought out as the go-to girl for catchy features… but which song featuring Nicki Minaj is your absolute favorite?

The Harajuku Barbie has done a ton of guest spots over the years, but we’ve managed to narrow it down to 10 of her most popular and impressive features. In 2010, Ludacris recruited Ms. Nicki for a spot on his track ‘My Chick Bad.’ Choosing her for that song must’ve been a no brainer, because Minaj is one of the baddest chicks around. That same year, she also got tipsy with Trey Songz on ‘Bottoms Up,’ took us to the islands with Sean Kingston on ‘Letting Go (Dutty Love),’ and busted our her gold fangs for an absolutely amazing feature on Kanye West‘s ‘Monster.’

In 2011, Nicki Minaj really branched out as she started to not only rap on her features, but also sing. She surprised people all over when she displayed her singing abilities on tracks like ‘You the Boss’ by Rick Ross and ‘Turn Me On’ by David Guetta. Speaking of the French DJ, Guetta liked working with Minaj so much, he also asked her to rap on his Flo Rida-featured track ‘Where Them Girls At.’

Later that year, she teamed up her YMCMB cohort Drake for his song ‘Make Me Proud,’ and she also worked his rap crony Big Sean on his hip-hop club banger ‘Dance (A$$).’  Finally, in 2012, Minaj reached ultimate featured artist status when Madonna asked her to rap on her lead single off of ‘MDNA,’ ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’.’ Oh, and she got to perform it at the Super Bowl with Madge. No biggie.
